In the period of the Revival of the New Epoch of Powerful State, under the leadership of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, stable coordination of the achievements of science and technology with the economy, comprehensive operation of all the available opportunities of the society and, based on this, to transform Turkmenistan into an innovative state, to create a modern high-tech industry, and to produce competitive finished products is the principal strategic priorities of the state. High-level economists, who are trained at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, play an important role in realizing this goal.

The institute was established on January 31, 1980 under the name Turkmen People's Economic Institute on the foundation of Turkmen State University.

On April 14, 2008, the President of Turkmenistan changed the name of the Turkmen Institute of People's Economy in order to create a unified system of training and professional development of high-level specialists who will greatly contribute to the development of market relations in the economy, as well as to ensure the active integration of the country into the world economic community. , signed the Decision to call it the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management. On September 28, 2011, our Arkadag came and opened a wonderful economic campus, which meets world standards and equipped with the most advanced equipment.

The classrooms of the new building are designed to meet international standards and equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers. The institute has a total of 24 computer classrooms and 8 language classrooms. All classrooms for 120, 84, 60 and 40 people are equipped with interactive whiteboards, and distance learning is also organized in them. Teachers and students have full access to fiber-optic, high-speed Internet. Computers at the institute were connected via a network and electronic document circulation was established. This includes internal and external document circulation. In addition, an electronic library system was created, which creates favorable conditions for meeting the information supply of teachers and students and saving their time.

The complex of buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management has 2 dormitories, which are equipped with all amenities.

At the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, training of specialists is currently carried out in the faculties of Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing, as well as the Faculty of Professional Development, where specialists of ministries, departments, banking system and various enterprises undergo additional training. The Institute has graduate departments such as Accounting and Auditing, Statistics, Economics and Law, Economic Theory, Finance, Banking, Digital Economy, Management, Information Systems, Global Economy, Marketing, Labor Economics. In addition, there are departments in the faculties of Social Studies, Foreign Languages, Advanced Mathematics and Informatics, and Physical Education.

Educational buildings have computers, classrooms equipped with projectors, and computer rooms connected to the Internet. There are also several specialized classrooms in the academic buildings.

The institute has a gymnasium and sports grounds to provide physical education to the students. Student athletes of our institute successfully participate in international competitions among students of higher education institutions and win prizes.

The music and dance group "Hazyna", the winner of the award of the youth organization named after Magtymguly of Turkmenistan, operating at the institute, regularly performs at festive events, state concerts, TV and radio broadcasts and deserves the love of the people.

RESULTS OF II OPEN INTERNATIONAL ONLINE OLYMPIAD ON SUBJECT FINANCE

On 14 November 2025, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management hosted the II Open International Online Olympiad for students on subject Finance. The event brought together 211 students from 60  higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and various foreign countries, including the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Germany, Pakistan, Venezuela, and Madagascar. Based on the results of the intellectual competition, 74 prize-winning places were determined, including 14 first places, 28 second places and 32 third places. The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management extends its sincere congratulations to the winners and prize holders of the II Open International Online Olympiad on subject Finance and expresses gratitude to all participants and supervisors for their contribution to the event.

The Institute will continue its efforts to strengthen international educational cooperation and to create conditions for enhancing students' research and academic activity.

DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE CURRICULA AND MODULES IN CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

CirculEC Project – Online Meeting on WP7 Piloting in Turkmenistan

Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (TSIEM) participated in the online meeting within the framework of Work Package 7 (Piloting) of the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Development of Innovative Curricula and Modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development (CirculEC)”, which was held on 12 November 2025 via Zoom.

The meeting was organized to review the progress of pilot implementation of newly developed academic modules in circular economy and sustainable development, to exchange feedback with European partners, and to coordinate further steps of the piloting phase in Turkmenistan.

Objectives of TSIEM Participation

The participation of TSIEM in the WP7 online meeting pursued the following objectives:

  • to present interim results of piloting newly developed academic disciplines and educational formats at TSIEM;

  • to receive expert feedback from European partner universities regarding content, structure, and learning outcomes of the piloted modules;

  • to ensure alignment of local implementation activities with the CirculEC work plan and Erasmus+ CBHE quality requirements;

  • to strengthen cooperation with EU and Central Asian partner institutions within the framework of WP7.

Meeting Agenda and Contributions of TSIEM

During the opening session, representatives of TSIEM delivered welcome remarks and introduced the institutional context of piloting activities in Turkmenistan, as well as the academic teams involved in module implementation.

In the main part of the meeting, TSIEM presented interim results of the piloting of academic disciplines developed within the CirculEC project. The presentation covered the structure of the modules, target learning outcomes, integration into existing curricula, and first observations from the pilot teaching process. In addition, information was provided on the implementation of master’s and lifelong learning formats related to circular economy and sustainable development.

The TSIEM presentations were followed by a discussion and question-and-answer session with European partners, during which constructive feedback and recommendations were received regarding content refinement, teaching methods, and assessment approaches.

Observations and Discussion

TSIEM notes that the meeting was conducted in accordance with the approved programme and timeline. The technical organization of the online format ensured stable participation of all partners, allowing effective exchange of views and experience.

The discussions enabled an in-depth review of pilot results, identification of strengths and challenges in the implementation of new disciplines, and clarification of expectations for the final stage of WP7. Particular attention was paid to quality assurance aspects, interdisciplinary integration, and practical relevance of the modules.

Key Outcomes for TSIEM

As a result of participation in the WP7 online meeting, TSIEM achieved the following outcomes:

  • interim pilot results of TSIEM academic disciplines were presented, discussed, and documented;

  • expert feedback and recommendations from EU partners were received and taken into account for further refinement of modules;

  • key action points for completion of the piloting phase and preparation of final WP7 reports were clarified;

  • institutional cooperation with European and regional partners was strengthened.

Conclusion

The WP7 online meeting provided an important platform for Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management to present the progress of pilot implementation, to assess the quality and relevance of newly developed modules, and to coordinate further steps within the CirculEC project.

Participation in this meeting contributed to the successful integration of circular economy and sustainable development principles into educational programmes at TSIEM and supported the broader objectives of modernizing higher education in line with green transformation and sustainable development priorities.

II Open International Internet Olympiad on subject Finance

The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management has the honor to invite students of higher educational institutions to participate in the II Open International Internet Olympiad on subject Finance among students of higher educational institutions, which will be held in November 14, 2025. We are confident that this Olympiad will contribute to our common mission to strengthen friendly relations between students and teachers of higher educational institutions, as well as provide an opportunity for the exchange of mutually beneficial scientific and practical knowledge and experience.

The official languages of the Olympiad are Turkmen, English and Russian.

The Olympiad will be held in the form of individual competitions among students.

No more than 4 (four) students from each higher educational institution can take part in the Olympiad.

The winners of the Olympiad are determined by the results of the points scored. Additional information and announcements related to the Olympiad will be posted on the institute's website https://tsiem.edu.tm/ .

II international scientific-practical conference “Sustainable economic development: international practice and perspective directions of development”

The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management has the honor to invite teaching staff of higher educational institutions to participate in the                       II international scientific-practical conference “Sustainable economic development: international practice and perspective directions of development”, which will be held online on November 28, 2025. We are confident that this conference will provide an opportunity for the exchange of mutually beneficial scientific and practical knowledge and experience.

The international scientific and practical conference will be held in 4 sections:

To participate in a scientific conference, please send theses, annotations and reports to the organizing committee (report for 5-10 minutes, theses no more than 1.5 pages, annotations - 0.5 pages in Times New Roman, font 14, text spacing - single).

The Organizing Committee has the right to issue the best abstracts.

RESULTS OF III OPEN INTERNATIONAL INTERNET OLYMPIAD IN WORLD ECONOMY

On May 16, 2025, the III Open International Internet Olympiad in World Economy was held at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management. Students from Turkmenistan and foreign countries, including the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Pakistan took part in it - a total of 135 students of 38 higher educational institutions. In total, 53 prize places were declared at the Olympiad, including 10 first, 23 second and 32 third places.

The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management congratulates the winners of the III Open International Internet Olympiad in World Economy.
