Meeting within the framework of the European-Central Asian EU project “CirculEC” (Development of innovative training programs and modules on circular economy and sustainable development)

In the era of power and happiness of our sovereign state, thanks to the wise policy of the respected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, international cooperation in the field of education and science is developing, as a result of which the scientific and educational potential of our country is strengthened. When the state and social system is based on a scientific and educational foundation, this makes it possible to create strong foundations of the state, which contributes to comprehensive harmonious prosperous development, as clearly evidenced by the high achievements of our state.

In April of this year, a meeting of a delegation from four Central Asian countries: Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took place in the city of Bielefeld, Germany. The delegation from Turkmenistan includes representatives of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. This event took place as part of the CirculEC project, aimed at developing innovative programs and modules on the circular economy for sustainable development in Europe. During the meeting, participants discussed future steps of the project.

The CirculEC project, implemented from 2023 to 2026, includes goals to integrate circular economy concepts into the curricula of higher education institutions in Central Asia. Another important goal of the project is to organize events and seminars on this topic in educational institutions in the region.

The program of the two-day event in Germany included a presentation of the activities of the "Fachhochschule des Mittelstandes" and a seminar on the possibility of introducing the "Circular Economy" course in Central Asia. Participants also received information about current research projects in this area and developed ideas in a design thinking format with the goal of integrating the acquired knowledge into their own projects.

After Germany, the delegation visited Spain and Italy. In Spain, project participants discussed improving training on the circular economy at the University of Santiago de Compostela. In Italy, the delegation was received by the Federico II University to discuss the Erasmus+ CirculEC project. The main goal of this project is to develop an innovative university master's program in sustainable development and circular economy. Participants expressed hope for sharing knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable development and strengthening ties between regions.
